Map of Clayoquot Sound Kayak RouteTOFINO TO HOT SPRINGS COVE all kayak routes subject to change based on weather, tides, group interest and ability levels
The above kayak route takes us from the Vancouver Island town of Tofino to Hot Springs Cove, a village belonging to the Hesquiaht First Nations people that features natural thermal rock baths. Often nicknamed 'Hawaii of the North' or the 'Eighth Wonder of the World,' Clayoquot Sound is one of our favorite paddling destinations and the spot where we elect to celebrate the summer solstice each year. While Tofino and Hot Springs Cove are becoming increasingly popular tourist desitnations, it is a rare and rewarding experience to travel from one to the other by kayak. The journey will take you through the unique ecosystem of the Clayoquot Sound where we spend days exploring countless offshore islands, sheltered ocean inlets and some of the last surviving temperate rainforest in the world. While many of our guests look forward to their steamy hot springs shower as the climax of their trip, their is plenty more to see within Clayoquot Sound and travelers who elect to forego the Hot Springs stop will be treated to more in-depth explorations of this wilderness wonderland.
