About Galiano Island

Galiano Island is a dry, long and narrow island escape that is part of Georgia Strait's Gulf Islands. Home to several rare species' of birds and unique plants due to the island's mild temperate climate, this is an interesting place to spend a weekend exploring. Galiano's tight-knit community is dedicated to keeping the island this way are therefore have worked hard to protect the island's breathtaking and unique natural landscape. There are seven protected parks on Galiano Island and popular activites include beachcombing, birdwatching, hiking, mountain biking and of course, kayaking!

Traveling to Galiano Island

Galiano Island is located on the Georgia Strait between Victoria and Vancouver. It is accessible from the British Columbia mainland from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal and from Vancouver Island on the Swartz Bay ferry terminal north of Victoria.
