Rising Sun Kayak Adventures frequently accommodates large groups through custom trips and clinics. Custom group trips can be a multi-day kayaking adventure to the Sunshine Coast or Vancouver Island or simply a day trip from Vancouver into the English Bay, Horseshoe Bay & / or Deep Cove. All groups have the option of a 'kayak instruction clinic' depending on their needs.
The Benefits of Custom Group Trips and Clinics
Rising Sun's Exclusive Indian Arm AccessRising Sun Kayaks Inc. (and family) have 8 acres of private shoreline property, accessible only by water, up Indian Arm, just past Brighton Beach. All custom group trips will have access to this exclusive property included in their trip options. This Indian Arm shoreline is a jewel of 'scenic splendor' that has its own waterfalls and creeks that drain off the east side of Mount Seymour that create a mini-estuary. The shoreline is also made up of a sandy beach that is graced with direct sunshine all day long.The property has a cabin, dock and basic amenities. It's the perfect destination for half-day trips and 'picnic pot-latches.'
Beginner's Custom Day Trips
For beginners, we custom design tours suited to abilities of your group or family. We work together with you to see what you want to learn and where you want to paddle, and we create a custom tour that will have your group kayaking with confidence by the end of your trip. Our groups in the past have largely been composed of beginning paddlers and we've found the group cooperative clinics to be a fun, rewarding and exhilirating educational environment for first time kayakers. Our beginning group trips and clinics are for people of all ages and families with young children are encouraging to join in the fun. Our double kayaks allow for children as young as 7 years of age to ride with their parents or one of our safety certified guides.
Intermediate Custom Day Trips
Already know a thing or two about kayaking? Book an intermediate custom trip in order to sharpen those skills and increase your confidence. Our intermediate custom trips will have guides teaching you how to eliminate any inefficiency in your basic paddling strokes and you will have fun doing it! You pick the location for the intermediate trip and we'll bring the kayaks to you. More advanced techniques such as braces, hip-flicks, draw strokes, rudder strokes, blending strokes, sweep strokes, and capsize rescues will be introduced during intermediate clinics. Evening and Full Moon Group TripsEvery month, you have the opportunity to howl at the full moon from one of Rising Sun's kayaks. Every month, (which is as often as the lunar cycle allows), we lead group tours paddling in Deep Cove under the light of the moon. The tours take off a short 15 minute drive from Vancouver and if you can't catch a ride, no worries, Rising Sun has a standing offer to pick any of its metro Vancouver clients up and bring them to their kayaking destination.
