Frequently Asked Questions: Rentals
WHAT IS THE MAIN RENTAL AREA FOR PICKUP AND DROP OFF? Our headquarters in Deep Cove, North Vancouver are our main site for kayak rentals. This is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. We keep our fleet of over two dozen boats here and Deep Cove's beaches provided access to some of the lower mainland's best paddling. From this location you will quickly escape into the 21 kilometer fjord that extends to Indian Arm. Here, deep in the Burrard Inlet, you will find sheltered paddling and B.C. wilderness at its best. For those that cannot make it to our Deep Cove location, we can drop-off our kayaks to anywhere in the greater Vancouver area. DOES A CERTIFIED GUIDE HAVE TO PADDLE ALONG? Nope, as long as you are over the age of 18, you are free to paddle without the accompaniment of a guide. Still, the presence of a certified guide is always recommended, especially for under-experienced paddlers. Guides come in useful by providing their navigation and safety expertise. They are basically an insurance policy on your trip. For children under the age of 18 who are not paddling with their parents or a guardian, we require the presence of one of our guides. WHERE DO WE PICK-UP OUR RENTED KAYAKS? We deliver your rentals to wherever you want to launch! This includes areas throughout the Lower Mainland of B.C. and the Sunshine Coast. If you are taking the boats out of this area with your own vehicle, then we can either drop the boat off at your home or pick it up at our Deep Cove location. Some of the places where we regularly drop-off kayaks are:
